Artist and
Music Producer

I'm Laghima, an artist and music producer currently based in Los Angeles. I make electronic music influenced by modern Deep House, Bass House, and EDM.

I grew up in India, where I first fell in love with music while attending Gurukula, an ancient and sacred right of passage for young children. Inspired by the temple, I began writing my own prayers on a harmonium reed organ. Those were my first songs.

"Lighter than the lightest"

Laghima is a nickname my grandmother gave me while growing up in India. It's one of the eight Siddhis found in the ancient Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, a coveted text that details the practice of yoga.

Each Siddhi is to be attained through a diligent commitment to this practice, which is originally one of the mind, rather than the body. Laghima represents the ability to become very light, with the deeper meaning left to personal interpretation.

I carry this idea with me in my work.

Electronic Music
in Florida and LA

At 7, I moved from India to Florida, where I began writing electronic music as a teenager. I fell into Orlando's experimental scene in high school, performing at electronic and noise shows.

Now in Los Angeles, my focus is on writing a more structured and melodic style of dance music, that centers my deep vocals in a landscape of sound design, over big bass grooves.
